PIERRE-ADRIEN DALPAYRAT (1844-1910) Exceptional... - Lot 9 - Ader
PIERRE-ADRIEN DALPAYRAT (1844-1910) Exceptional pair of high obus vases with wings evoking the art of Japan. The lower parts present a decoration in relief, of vertical stripes, until the bulge. The bases simulate a heel in very slight projection. Enamelled stoneware proofs with oxblood and green coulures on a beige background. A restoration at the base of one of the wings . Each work is signed with a stamp in hollow DALPAYRAT under the base, one also bears a number, partly illegible. Height: 71 cmBibliography : Horst Makus, Helen Bieri, André Dalpayrat, Jean Girel and Madeleine Strobel, - Adrien Dalpayrat - Céramique française de l'Art nouveau - Éditions Arnoldsche, Stuttgart (Germany), 1998 . An identical model, reproduced on page 21, appears on an archive photograph taken around 1898 and showing Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat's collaborators in the workshop courtyard.
