H. MAREAU (XIXth CENTURY )Scene of a tournament & supposed wedding in the Mareau family (Orleans) in the XVIth century, work realized in 1872 . The quadrangular body has a front opening with two drawers surmounted by a central flap and two full side doors and rests on an arcature base. The central part and the side doors form the title decoration sculpted, polychromed and, partly, gilded; the left door with the recall of the Mareau coat of arms. The flap is enriched with hinges and a lock, with engraved heraldic decoration (Mareau coat of arms), in richly worked gilded metal. The drawers are decorated with carved ribbon motifs in high relief and, in part, gilded. The sides are with carved and polychromed motifs like a napkin fold. The interior is equipped with lacquered wood shelves. Condition of use, small scattered accidents. Signed and dated H. MAREAU 1872 Ft, in engraving on the gilded lock, presence of an old label from Pickfords LD on the back. Height : 118 cm - Length : 140 m - Width : 45,5 cm
