PIET KRAMER (1881-1961) (ATTRIBUTED TO) - AMSTERDAM SCHOOL Rare, interesting and comfortable pair of architect's chairs in stained oak and oak plywood. Each side has an upholstered and slanted armrest return and an ogival decorative pattern in ebony. The fronts have two uprights, each with a semicircle with a falling triangle motif in ebony style; the front legs, also in ebony style, have a recessed step ending in a truncated pyramid. The backs, partly upholstered and in truncated ogives with a recess and highlighted with black on the edges, each receive a series of inverted ogives in relief and blackened in the lower part and rectangular plates in ebony style at the top. The undersides each have a sloping, recessed base made of blackened oak. The rear legs are formed by thick stepped discs, evoking large casters. The seats are suspended, the armrests and backs upholstered . Circa 1925-30. Condition and restorations of use, upholstery and tapestries not original . Height : 85 cm - Width : 80 cm - Depth : 75 cm
