From the Annie CORDY suite (5th floor) of the Metropole Hotel (Brussels): FERNAND CHAMBON (1876-1944) (ATTRIBUTED TO) THONET FOR THE HOTEL METROPOLE BRUSSELS. Dressing table in light wood and light wood veneer opening by a drawer in the belt. The feet and the entablature are underlined by a black lacquered rush. The top hosts a glass plate and a mirror with a metal frame supported by a doucine base. Circa 1940-50. H. 113 cm. - L. : 100 cm. - D. : 50 cm. A light wood chair with a full back is attached. The seat (re)upholstered with black velvet. Carries a paper label THONET under the seat. H. 74cm - L. 48 cm - D. 45cm For both pieces of furniture: condition and restorations of use, tapestries not original for the seat, glass plate replaced on the dressing table.
