FERNAND CHAMBON (1876-1944) (ATTRIBUTED TO) FOR THE HOTEL METROPOLE BRUSSELS Neoclassical dressing table in light wood and light wood veneer. The entablature, opening with two drawers in the front, hosts a top composed of three black opaline with metal frames; the central part forming a flap and discovering a mirror. The double X-shaped legs are joined by a nickel-plated metal spacer. Years 1940-50. H. 70 cm - L. 120 cm - D. 53 cm. A light wood chair with a full back is attached. The seat (re)upholstered in blue velvet. Carries a THONET paper label under the seat. H. 74 cm - L. 48 cm - D. 45cm For both pieces of furniture: condition and restorations of use, tapestries not original for the seat, glass plate replaced on the dressing table. The three legs in light wood are joined by a Y-shaped spacer made of nickel-plated metal and support a circular top in clear glass with a frosted center. Years 1940-50. H: 56 cm. - Diameter: 80 cm. Condition of use, the tray may have been replaced. The cushions of the seats and backs (re)upholstered. Years 1940-50.
