Passengers in the first-class Fontainebleau lounge aboard the liner France (CGT 1962)
The liner France (1962-2009) was the last French transatlantic liner. Iconic of French luxury, the ship featured a first class (580 passengers) with a separate layout (private lounge, library, smoking room, etc.). The large first-class salon was called the Salon Fontainebleau and was decorated with tapestries by Camille Hillaire, notably "le sous-bois".
