Byron Company - Lot 151
Byron Company Third-class promenade deck aboard the liner Normandie (CGT 1935) The Normandie (1935-1947) was one of the longest liners of its time. Her luxury was unheard of at the time, and the French Line wanted to promote her. So in 1935, they asked the prestigious American agency Byron & Cie (with whom the French Line had been collaborating for several years) to produce a complete reportage of the ship from bow to stern. The third class was at the very rear of the ship, occupying 10% of the space and originally accommodating 315 passengers (later reduced to 186). Silver print on baryta paper, from digital file (black & white lambda print) French Lines dry stamp in lower right margin. Stamp "French Lines 30/11/2024 Edition Spéciale N°: 1/1" on verso. Image: 38.8 x 50.1 cm Paper: 50 x 70 cm
