CLAUDIA HUIDOBRO Dessin d'existence n°18 Year: 2020-2021 Oil - Lot 27
CLAUDIA HUIDOBRO Dessin d'existence n°18 Year: 2020-2021 Oil painting on paper Gift of Galerie Regala - Arles 43 x 32 cm Work sold with certificate of authenticity. Dessin d'existence n°18 Dessins d'Existence by François Hébel: Opening horizons. Balancing between several worlds. Standing on the edge of uncertain assurance. It's impressive how many personal projections a few black lines evoke in me. Opening horizons: a simple window or the exciting map of a world to be discovered. Balancing: will the graceful figure cross the enclosure, to fall or soar with those wings spread? The tightrope walker holds onto the frame as much as he performs the feat of enlarging it on a base that has the fragility of thread. He is fascinated by the unknown to close a horizon or give perspective: the frame as a symbol of art. With few elements this drawing is eloquent. The only certainty is that this man or woman is willing to leave a narrow space. It's a promise that summons us. Claudia Huidobro is a Franco-Chilean artist. She lives and works between Paris and the forest of Fontainebleau. After studying fine arts, Claudia Huidobro worked as a model, designing for Jean Paul Gaultier in his design studio. Claudia Huidobro exhibits in Paris, Luxembourg, Brussels, Madrid, Geneva, New York, Beijing, Moscow and Santiago de Chile. Her work has been shown at Paris Photo, Rencontres d'Arles, Portrait à Vichy, Photo London and Unseen Amsterdam. She took part in a number of performances under the direction of Olivier Saillard, including Models Never Talk and Couture Essentielle for the Crossing the Lines Festival in New York and the Festival d'Automne in Paris. Jean-Paul Gaultier then asked her to design her first set at the Cité de l'Architecture in Paris. In parallel with her creative work, she continues to design for the Foto Industria festival, directed by François Hebel, and for fashion exhibitions in Paris, Marrakech, Los Angeles and Italy, curated by Olivier Saillard and Gaël Mamine.
