Andrée Putman and Evelyne Prouvost, a tribute to two pioneers of modernity Evelyne Prévost commissioned Andrée Putman to decorate the offices of the head office, almost as a matter of course. Embodying the modern woman and entrepreneur, Andrée Putman is in the 90s the icon of women's design while, like Evelyne Prouvost, nothing seemed to destine her to take this place in the world of that time. Marie Claire's chair is one of the most prestigious pieces created by Andrée Putman. From the Elephant bench designed for the house of the writer Bernard-Henri Lévy to the floor lamps created for the CAPC - Museum of Contemporary Art in Bordeaux, not to mention the hemispherical desk designed for the minister Jack Lang, the decor of Marie Claire's offices is a true journey through the work of Andrée Putman. In this space, she also honors the creations of her favorite decorators, whom she reedited in her Ecart International gallery, such as Mallet-Stevens and Michel Dufet. The sale of the furniture from the former headquarters of Marie Claire is therefore an unmissable opportunity to acquire a piece of design marked by the modernity of these two personalities, who embodied a resolutely audacious idea of the woman throughout their careers. Proceeds from the sale in part donated to the Women's Foundation The Women's Foundation is the reference structure in France for the freedom and rights of women, and against the violence they suffer. Thanks to the donations it receives, it provides financial, legal and material support to high-impact associative initiatives throughout France. Thus, since the creation of the Foundation in 2016, more than 900 associative projects have been supported, enabling hundreds of thousands of women victims of violence or in precarious situations to be helped and accompanied by experts.
