JEAN PROUVE (1901-1984) COLLECTION BNP PARIS Model designed around [1951], made in only a few copies for bank vaults Rolling staircase with 5 steps forming a library staircase. The structure (stringer and base) is made of folded and grey lacquered steel sheet. Railing and struts in grey lacquered tubular metal. The steps in oak. Brake type Gazelle. The original castors. Circa 1951. Repainted, wear to the oak steps. H. 195 cm L. 70 cm P. 120 cm Condition of use. Provenance : BNP PARIBAS, 16 boulevard des Italiens Paris 9e Archives : The plan of our stepladder model, n° 13073 of the Ateliers Jean Prouvé, is kept in the Archives Départementales de Meurthe-et-Moselle under the reference 23 J 190-3/99. Public collections : Musée National d'Art Moderne Centre Pompidou A rolling stepladder identical to ours is preserved in the collections of this institution under the inventory number AM 2007-1-113 (Donation Fondation BNP PARIBAS, 2007).
