Outside 1st Class cabin on board the liner Normandie (CGT 1935)
The Normandie (1935-1947) was one of the longest liners of its time. Composed of three classes, there was plenty to offer on board. The first class (also known as cabin class) occupied 70% of the ship and accounted for half the passengers. With its many facilities (dining room, grill restaurant, chapel, grand salon, boutiques, shooting gallery, theater, cinema, library, winter garden, sports hall, swimming pool, etc.), its luxury was unheard of at the time. The exterior cabins of the first class (known as "métalliques") are the creation of decorator B.J.KLOTZ and Ste Nord-Alpes exécutant.
