The tourist-class bridge lounge on the liner France (CGT 1962), decorated by Henriette Gonse.
The liner France (1962-2009) was the last French transatlantic liner. It was designed as a modern ship, notably through its decoration (tapestry by Jean Picart Le Doux, chandeliers by Gilbert Pillerat, Jean Adrien Mercier, ) and facilities (swimming pools, theater, bars, cabarets, private lounges, ). In public spaces, decorators are at work (Henriette Gonse, Micheline Willemetz, André Arbus, ). Aluminum, upholstery and synthetic carpets offered an assortment of materials and colors representative of the 1960s.
