Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT or French Line) - Lot 510
Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT or French Line) Anonymous Filming of the film "Le Cerveau" with the arrival of the reproduction of the Statue of Liberty at the Quai Joannes Couvert in Le Havre, where the liner France (CGT 1962) is docked, in August 1968. The liner France (1962-2009) was the last French transatlantic liner. Conceived as a modern, French-style luxury vessel, the ship was immortalized in Gérard Oury's 1969 film "Le Cerveau", which immobilized the liner for filming. The cast included Jean-Paul Belmondo, Bourvil, David Niven, Eli Wallach and Silvia Monti, all of whom contributed to the film's success. Silver print on baryta paper, from digital file (color lambda print) French Lines dry stamp in lower right margin. Stamp "French Lines 30/11/2024 Edition Spéciale N°: 1/1" on verso. Image: 37.6 x 50 cm Paper: 50 x 70 cm
