Céline CLANET (b. 1977) Gerris en groupe, e'tang de la Genes - Lot 17
Céline CLANET (b. 1977) Gerris en groupe, e'tang de la Geneste, Buc From the "GROUND NOISE" series, 2023 B&W baryta print, pigment inkjet, laminated on aluminum, American case with Wengé veneer. Signed and numbered 2/10 on back of frame on label 58 x 44 cm Work sold with certificate of authenticity. Céline Clanet (1977), a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d'Arles, is interested in remote or secret places, wild landscapes and their occupants. Attentive to the ecological impact of human actions and areas in the throes of change, she also explores the complex relationships we maintain with the animal world. In 2023, Ground Noise (Actes Sud), about the visible and invisible worlds of the forest, was published and exhibited at the Rencontres d'Arles in the same year: combining photographs taken in various French forests and micrographs of organic elements and arthropods collected in these same territories (produced with the scanning electron microscope, in collaboration with INRAE), this work explores the surface of the world and opens the doors to a universe that is both strange and familiar. Published and exhibited in Europe and abroad, her photographic work is notably part of the holdings of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Neuflize OBC collection, the CNAP collection, the Société Française de Photographie, the Archives Départementales de Savoie, the Portland Art Museum (USA), as well as several private collections. Céline Clanet has published 8 monographs: Seconde Peau (Filigranes, 2024), Ground Noise (Actes Sud, 2023), Kola (Loco, 2018), Accès Réservé (Ardi/DRAC Normandie, 2017), Les Chapieux, Géographie d'un secret (Actes Sud, 2014), Du torrent au courant (Actes Sud, 2011), Máze (Photolucida, 2010) and Un Mince Vernis de Réalité (Filigranes, 2005). She lives in Paris.
