Edgar MAXENCE (Nantes 1871 - La Bernerie-En-Retz 1954) Garden of Peace Panel Height: 80 cm - Width: 64.5 cm Signed lower right "Edgar Maxence". Our painting can be compared with Maxence's composition exhibited at the 1929 Salon des Artistes Français, no. 1589. Variations include the bouquet held in the hands and the background behind the railings. Another simplified version, without the railings, is in the Musée des Beaux Arts in Bordeaux.
