Clémence VAZARD - Lot 25
Clémence VAZARD La Herradura, 2025 Natural dye made from logwood and hand embroidery on a wool and silk weave. 41.5 x 73 cm Clémence Vazard gathers the waters of the world to give them a voice. Collected in situ from rivers, deltas, wetlands, and groundwater, these waters become an artistic medium. Depending on their unique geochemical composition, they produce unrepeatable hues—hydrochromatic imprints of a territory. Her monumental textile works, born of participatory creative processes, take shape through total immersion in river ecosystems—in the Amazon, Colombia, Bangladesh, and the Camargue—weaving together the sensory memory of a river and its riverside communities. A graduate with distinction from the MA in Art & Science program at Central Saint Martins, she has been awarded residencies at Atelier LUMA Arles (2024), Villa Swagatam (2026), and the ADAGP Research Fund (2023). She won the Eau de Paris participatory budget (2024) with “L’Eau en couleurs.” Her works have been presented at the Medellín International Art Biennial (2025), in exhibitions across Europe, Latin America, and South Asia, and are included in public collections such as the Musée Charles Léandre in Normandy and the Galerie du 19M in Paris. Her “ARROYO” series was recently exhibited at the Anne Clergue Gallery in Arles.
