Founded in May 1972 by a group of architects and designers - including Oscar Tusquets, Pep Bonet, Cristian Cirici, Lluís Clotet and Mireia Riera - BD Barcelona Design (then Bocaccio Design) quickly established itself as a pioneer of Spanish design. In a Spain still marked by Francoism, the company set itself the mission of publishing and distributing singular, eclectic furniture and objects that embodied total creative freedom.

Based in the heart of Barcelona, BD Barcelona Design is today owned by a collective of architects, publishers and designers - Apartamento Magazine, Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, Luna Paiva, Hernán Cortés and Igor Urdampilleta - alongside one of its founders, Oscar Tusquets.

This group perpetuates the non-conformist, avant-garde spirit of its origins, with an emphasis on limited editions. By combining the creativity of designers with the know-how of local craftsmen and workshops, combined with cutting-edge industrial technologies, BD gives its creations a unique identity, combining poetry, color, functionality and excellence. This approach has enabled BD to offer exclusive pieces that are now sold in over 60 countries.

As part of the optimization of its reserves, BD entrusts ADER Entreprises & Patrimoine with the marketing of prototypes, showroom models and pieces with slight imperfections: a rare opportunity on the auction market.

On request before March 23, 2026, lots purchased may be collected in France in March (date to be announced), directly from the XV Transfert warehouses in Marcoussis (Paris region).

In this case, only storage charges will be invoiced at the following rates:

- Transfer of non-recovered lots to storage: €30 excl. tax/m³.

- Monthly storage rent: €20 excl. tax/m³.

- Dock opening fee: €10 excl. tax/customer
