Hans SILVESTER (b. 1938) Jeu de Pétanque in Robion-Vaucluse, - Lot 32
Hans SILVESTER (b. 1938) Jeu de Pétanque in Robion-Vaucluse, 1972 N° 5/10 Photo from the book "Visée juste", catalog for the 2024 exhibition at the Museon Arlaten 30 x 50 cm Hans Silvester's vocation began in childhood. Born in Germany in 1938, he worked in a photographer's studio at the age of 14, graduating 3 years later. He took to the road across Europe. In 1960, Camargue was published with a text by Jean Giono. Provence became his home port, where he settled in 1960. One journey followed another, and he established himself as an ardent defender of ecology: Calavon "La rivière assassinée" , "La déforestation en Amazonie", 1985. Nature is his second nature. In love with the Earth, he is also in love with the beings that inhabit it, including animals. His work is a whole that tells us of the beauty of the world. His images, chosen from thousands, outline the adventure of a man of photographic creation. - by Joëlle Ody
